More about the product Uses Bostik Gap Seal is a general purpose, water based, acrylic gap filler, suitable for use on interior and exterior areas prior to painting. It offers excellent adhesion properties suitable for sealing gaps and low movement joints. Bostik Gap Seal can be used on: – Skirting boards, architraves, plasterboard, window and door frames – For low movement joints, between light partition walls – Filling cracks in plaster, brickwork, concrete aluminum, wood and glass Preparation 1. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust and grease 2. Remove all loose materials (including old filler) from working area Application 1. Hold caulking gun at a 45° angle and squeeze trigger at even pressure 2. While the caulk is being dispensed, move the caulking gun along the crack or gap at an even speed 3. Smooth off with wet finger or scrape off lightly with a wet putty knife or damp cloth 4. Becomes touch dry within 30 minutes under normal conditions Paintability Bostik Gap Seal can be painted over with most types of paint. Depending on the gap size and weather conditions; it can be painted over after 2 hours for acrylic paint and about 2-3 days for oil based paint. In general, the larger the gap sizes, the longer the drying time. Limitations Do not use to provide a seal where joint movement is more than 10%. Not recommended for: − Use underwater, constant water pools, on damp substrates or in trafficable areas − Use where abrasion of physical abuse can be expected − Use of sealing submerged joints − Use in external applications where rain is imminent within 4 hours Cleaning Clean off excess with a damp cloth or water immediately. Use Bostik Handy Wipe towels to remove adhesive from skin. Storage and shelf life Store in cool (between 5°C to 25°C) dry, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Store away from oxidizing agents and acids. Shelf life is 24 months in original unopened container if stored below 25°C. Disposal Empty cartridges may be disposed via local landfill. If spilt, absorb with clay, sand or earth. Collect and seal in properly labeled metal container. Dispose of according to local authority regulations.
