Beginning with his early days in London’s East End, this book follows his progress through his first photographic experiences as an assistant to John French; his early years with “Vogue”; his close relationship with the stars of rock music – which resulted in images of bands like “The Beatles” and “The Rolling Stones” that form the iconography of the 1960s; and his friendships and love affairs with some of the period’s beautiful women – among them models Jean Shrimpton and Penelope Tree and Catherine Deneuve.This book brings together some of Bailey’s most famous photographs, as well as more unknown images.
